The Andrew Fuller Center for Baptist Studies at The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary will be hosting its fifth annual conference September 26-27, 2011. The theme of this year’s conference is Baptists and War. Topics include specific wars, pacifism, and chaplaincy.
I’m honored to be delivering a plenary address on the topic “Baptist Responses to the Vietnam Conflict.” I look forward to addressing how Baptists navigated this volatile period in American history. Other plenary speakers include my Southeastern Seminary colleague Keith Harper, Anthony Cross, George Rable, Larry Kreitzer, Paul Brewster, James Roberson, and Maurice Dowling. There will also be a panel discussion on the Civil War that will include Rable, Tom Nettles, and James Fuller, to be moderated by Greg Wills. A number of parallel sessions will address historical and theological topics related to the conference theme.
You can register for the conference online. The conference website also includes information about cost, lodging, and information about the plenary speakers. I hope to see some of you in Louisville next month.
